Developing place-based interventions to address health and wellbeing inequalities for Roma populations
RomaPlaceAge aims to find out how places and spaces can be designed to support healthy ageing and reduce exclusion and marginalisation for Roma communities in middle to later life (aged 40+).
Our project will work in equal partnership with the Roma population throughout the research, and is co-led by Roma voluntary and community sector organisations.
In shaping policy and practice recommendations from our research, we will build on the assets and strengths that exist within the Roma community.
This project is co-led by Roma voluntary sector organisations and members of the Roma community will be involved as co-researchers to shape the research priorities and outcomes.
Our research will focus on Roma case study communities in Govanhill, Luton and Peterborough but with the aim to scale up and share learning across geographical areas.
RomaPlaceAge is a three-year project, funded by UK Research and Innovation, starting in February 2024 and ending in April 2027.
