Publications

We are delighted to announce the release of our latest training resource, “Co-researching Visual and Mobile Methods with Roma Communities: A Toolkit”. Developed with our Roma co-researchers, this guide offers practical advice on using go-along interviews, photo elicitation, and other visual and mobile methods in community-based research.

This builds on our earlier resource: "Training Guide for Community Researchers: The Case of the RomaPlaceAge Project." Published in January 2025, the guide provides valuable insights and practical tools tailored for community-focused research.

We encourage academics and practitioners to utilise this guide when delivering community research or co-researcher initiatives. We look forward to hearing from anyone who has applied or used it as a resource within their work.

You can also explore our Romanian and Czech training packs developed from a two-day workshop with our co-researchers. These packs include interview scenarios, role-play exercises, and interview agendas in Romanian and Czech. These packs can be downloaded here:

Reports

RomePlaceAge held three stakeholder events (Knowledge Cafés) to discuss issues, challenges, and possible solutions that affect older Roma in Govanhill, Luton, and Peterborough, respectively. The reports from these events can be accessed by clicking on the relevant links below:

All three events were very insightful and could not have been a success without the support from our project partners at Govanhill, Luton, and Peterborough, as well as the invaluable contributions from the participants at each site.
